Good Friday morning from the LPD,
Greetings on this Friday morning.
Will you accept anyone and everyone who comes to your church? A member of a minority? A refugee? A member of the LGBTQ community?
While we might consider ourselves warm and friendly, sometimes “acceptance” for some can be taken to mean endorsement or approval of behaviours that are contrary to Scripture.
In a recent article, Pastor David Prince provides us with a letter that he wrote to a person asking the question, “Will I Be Fully Accepted at Your Church as a Gay Man?” His letter provides a compassionate and biblical response to the inquirer. It also provides a template for us, as we too will face such an inquiry.
May God give us grace, compassion and wisdom as we might face similar queries. Just two weeks ago, Christopher Yuan provided us with some valuable resources on ministering to those facing a variety of sexual temptations in his workshop, “Holy Sexuality.” If you missed the conference, you can see his book, “Out of a Far Country.”

Please mark your calendars for March 4,5 – 2016 – LPD Conference on the theme Coaching and Mentoring at White Rock Community Church.
May God bless and keep you as you look to the Lord, and trust him for his good work through the week ahead.
In Jesus,
Rob

This year, as our Lower Pacific District assists in the birth and revitalization of churches, we also step out in faith with local churches through providing financial support and seed money. To this end, we appreciate the gifts of many district churches and also of individuals. You can participate through both cheques and online through PayPal at our website. See LPD website for more info.
