Good Friday morning from the LPD.
We trust that your launches and kick-offs have gone well! We are now well on our way for another season.
This Sunday, Karen and I look forward to participating in the installation of Henry and Kim Ngugi at New Westminster EFC. Henry has been called to serve as a pastoral intern, alongside Senior Pastor Tim (Emily) Stewart. I am thankful that our Lower Pacific District has been able to partner with the church financially in calling Henry, and we trust that his ministry will serve as a catalyst for increased outreach to families in New West and South Burnaby.
In Psalm 78, Asaph writes of David, “And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.” (Psalm 78:72).Today, most training of leaders focuses on skills. Skills are important, but are secondary to character. Skills can often be gained, but godly character is something that either we have prioritized and have or do not have. In a recent article, Carey Nieuwhof writes, The longer I lead and the more I see, the more I’m convinced that character ultimately determines a leader’s true success.” Read his whole article “5 Character Tests Every Great Leader Passes,” here.
Please check out the new LPD website with new photos each week. We have recently redone this, and there are resources for you and your church, information on sister churches and LPD Churches of the Week. We also have introduced the PayPal option for giving to the ministry of our Lower Pacific District. Please see our new LPD website.
Please also see the attached Five Minutes on Friday, with news and prayer items from the LPD, and also see info on Coquitlam Chinese Evangelical Free Church, our LPD Church of the Week.

This year, as our Lower Pacific District assists in the birth and revitalization of churches, we also step out in faith with local churches through providing financial support and seed money. To this end, we appreciate the gifts of many district churches and also of individuals. You can participate through both cheques and online through PayPal at our website. See LPD website for more info.
