Good morning friends,
I trust that you are well and encouraged with God’s work in your life and through your ministry in this New Year.
This morning, I head out to ACTS Seminary for the Joint Governance Council, a group of reps. from the four partner denominations of ACTS (EFCC, Mennonite Brethren, Baptist General Conference and Fellowship Baptists). Currently, we are reconfiguring ACTS to be a new stand-alone Society, and this process has been both renewing and refining as we look to the future. The discussion has caused us to prayerfully consider our joint mission, our common evangelical faith and the terms of our partnership in God’s Kingdom. Please pray for Dr. John Auxier, who plays a key role in this initiative on behalf of the EFCC, and that the outcome will provide godly and relevant equipping and tools for our churches and mission.
At lunch, we will meet with TWS/ACTS students, as we begin another season of our Affinity Groups with students. This is a chance to come alongside students, and to walk alongside them in their studies and in seeking the Lord for their future.
This weekend, Karen and I look forward to ministering alongside Rick and Sandy McAllister at Wildwood Community Church in Bowser. I will have opportunity to speak at the Men’s breakfast on Saturday, meet with the church board, and preach on Sunday morning. We also look forward to time of fellowship with Rick and Sandy. Please pray for Wildwood Community Church, and for Pastor Rick and Sandy, as they seek to join with God in the growth and revitalization of the church and mission to their community.
Speaking of mission, our district mission of, “…encouraging and resourcing our growing family churches to reflect Jesus Christ,” we are offering equipping and training to the end of, “Stepping Up Our Walk,” a COACH workshop on coaching and mentoring in our Christian walks and service as a part of our LPD Conference on March 4,5 at White Rock Community Church. You can register by mail or online at our LPD Website under the Pastor Resources tab.
Please see the attached information, and plan to join us for the workshop on Friday, March 4, celebration dinner on Friday evening and a Saturday morning conference session and meeting. Please see the attached brochure, delegate form and revised information. Conference registration includes the Friday COACH workshop and participant manual, so plan to join us for this and to learn and grow with your leadership team, and other church leaders and delegates from our district.
Please continue to remember the refugees. Here is a link to a Christian Declaration on Caring for Refugees. What do you think?
On another note: Here is an article your pastor might like you to read. As Red Green says, “We are all in this together.”
Upcoming Events:
May God bless and keep you as you look to the Lord, and trust him for his good work through the week ahead.
In Jesus,
Rob
