Hello friends – I trust that you have had a good week.
Have you visited our LPD website lately? Please take a moment to do so. We have recently redone this, and there are resources for you and your church, information on sister churches and LPD Churches of the Week. We also have introduced the PayPal option for giving to the ministry of our Lower Pacific District. Please see our new LPD website here.
Is your church mission driven or is it activity driven? While we might assume that all ministries are mission focused, sometimes they are not – or they have drifted from their mission. This question is raised by Thom Rainer in a recent podcast. Here is the link
He draws from some of his material in his book, “Simple Church.” Hope that you find this helpful as you ready for the fall season.
Are you an agnostic? I would expect not. But are you a functional agnostic? – seeing to God’s work, but without dependence upon him? Here is a link to an article by Mike Breen.
While not a long article, I believe that if we are honest, much of what we might consider as good planning and strategy neither expects not relies on the intervention and power of God.

• Wednesday, October 28 – LPD Pastors and Staff Cruise! Pastors and church staff – please plan to join us for this day of fellowship and learning together.
• November 6,7 – A Workshop on Christian Sexuality. Hosted by Fort Langley EFC, this workshop, with Christopher Yuan will be both insightful and helpful in equipping people towards a biblical understanding of current issues and also towards more effectively ministering to our neighbours. Please watch for details in the weeks ahead.
• March 4,5 – 2016 – LPD Conference on the theme Coaching and Mentoring.
