We all begin with a fire in our hearts, excitement, and anticipation. It may be marriage or a new job, a new ministry position, or our faith walk with Jesus. But somewhere along the road that fire begins to fade. The passion and excitement is no longer there, we find ourselves going through the routines and motions, and the fire and passion give way to mediocrity instead of excellence, life, and faith driven living for Jesus.
So what would it look like to unleash our faith once again? What would it look like to step out boldly and grasp the promises and hope of God? What would it look like to stretch our faith wings and soar beyond mediocrity into that sacred space where the Holy Spirit beckons us to? “…those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31.
We are excited to have Dr. Melodie Bissell be our Friday afternoon speaker. During the earlier days of Covid-19 she was working on her doctorate thesis which was on abuse in the church. With care and gentle love she interviewed over 100 survivors of church abuse. This has lead her to create starting Trauma Care Consulting. We know her best from Plan to Protect and those big manuals, but Josephine has gotten to know Dr. Bissell more through her Trauma Care Consulting and it has become Josephine desire to have all church leadership become aware of how we can support those who have experience trauma in our churches or previous ones. How do we love and care for those who have been hurt by the church? We invite all churches to addition to sending delegates and pastors to the entire conference and we also invite key leadership (board members, greeters, and vulnerable persons’ volunteers) from each churches.
