| I DON’T WANT TO MISS THE BOAT… | |

| This next week is an interesting and exciting week for Donnae and I. We get to leave the children at home, pack a couple of bags, and just the two of us catch a ferry to the island where we will spend the next week visiting some of our pastors, church leaders, and churches on the island.
I love this age and stage of life – it seems so long since it was just the two of us – the years since have been an endless search for babysitters, moments of sheer exhaustion, times of celebration, laughter, and those times of anxiety taking a trip to the emergency room or running for a band aid! Bring on the Ferry, wind and sun, and open roads to who knows where! On the other hand I am also so excited to see how God is working through people and churches in the Evangelical Free Church across the island. We will spend some time with Nathan and Amber with Winsome Games (check out their exciting ministry here), visit Parkdale Church (here is their website), The Rock in Ladysmith (click here to visit their website), Rick and Pastor Joe from Wildwood Community Church in Bowser (they have a great website here), Pastor Dave Koleba of Central EFree Church in Courtenay (visit their website here), Pastor Dave de Jong from Ucluelet (check out their website here), and board members from Quadra island Bible Church (visit them online here). We are also hoping to visit some treasured friends of the LPD that live on the island and get a better idea of the reach of the Kingdom of God across this District. I love the island, the ferry ride, God’s church, and the opportunity to travel with my most favourite human. I especially love that God loves this wide and diverse island with all of its diverse and unique communities! So Pray for us. Pray that we have opportunity to fulfill our mandate to ‘resource and encourage our growing family of churches’ on the island. Pray that we will be safe, that our car does its job well, and we are able to meet all our commitments faithfully. And please be praying for our island churches and ministries. And pray that we don’t love the island too much and decide to stay there 😊 Is there is something we can be praying for you about (plenty of time to talk with Jesus while we drive – must remember not to close my eyes though!)
