Rev. Evans Hundermark
Rev. Evans Hundermark hails from South Africa, as does his wife, Donnae. Evans is passionate about The Lord Jesus, His Word and coming alongside others to help them grow in their Christian faith. Rev. Evans and Donnae have four amazing children – Caleb, Kelsey (married to Noah), Gabby and Jodi, and Facebook is often full of pictures of their wonderful grand-daughter, Aurora-Rose.
Rev Evans began serving God by youth pastoring in South Africa 30 years ago and has served and pastored in churches in South Africa, Zimbabwe, British Columbia, and Alberta since then. Rev. Evans has a Licentiate degree (the equivalent here is a Bachelor’s degree in Theology) from five years of study at Cape Town Baptist Seminary in Cape Town, South Africa. Rev Evans has served as a Youth Pastor and Senior Pastor and served on Ministerial and District Boards in the Lower Mainland, BC, and Alberta. Rev. Evans is ordained through the Evangelical Free Church of Canada. Donnae has a diploma in nursing in South Africa, and in 2023 began a new career working for the BC Ambulance Services as a Paramedic.
Rev. Evans Hundermark was called as District Superintendent in March of 2022 and began in this role on June 1, 2022. He works Tuesday and Wednesday in the office, Thursday and Friday he is in meetings (in person or over Zoom) or preparing a sermon, and most Sundays, you will find him at a church in the district. As DS he also sits on the national Church Vitality Committee representing our 36 churches and church plants.

Josephine Papp
Josephine Papp was born and raised in the Comox and called Central EFC home while growing up. She is passionate about serving those around her in such away that they will seek the face of Jesus Christ. Josephine has served in the United States, Taiwan, Guatemala, and Canada in various roles as counsellor, missionary, English teacher, children pastor/director, and coordinator/pastoral care. She has also worked several years in management both for churches and businesses.
Josephine holds a bachelor’s degree of Arts in Christian Counselling from Louisiana Baptist University and a master’s degree of Arts in Biblical Counselling from Master's International University of Divinity. Josephine has a weakness for learning and hold multiples certificates in church planting, domestic abuse care, abuse prevention and much more. Josephine is credentialed with the Evangelical Free Church of Canada and thus holds a Certificate of Ministry.
Josephine can be found at the district office Monday to Wednesday with the odd exception for offsite meetings. Thursdays and Fridays are her offsite days. Josephine split the duties of serving our district with Rev. Evans. Her primary duties include assisting pastors through Ordination, Credentialing and Transfer of Ordination, and being a bridge between our churches and CRA and BC Societies. She monitors our district finances, helps with developing By-Laws and policies for churches, and oversees district administration and record keeping, amongst many other things!
