First things first in the morning – Five Minutes on Friday with the LPD

Good Friday morning from the LPD!

What is the first thing you do in the morning? Okay – after a trip to the washroom… In this wireless age, depending on your age, it is likely that you check your smartphone.

In a recent article, Tony Reinke asks, “6 Wrong Reasons to Check Your Phone in the Morning.” This is a good reminder of the importance of how we begin our day. He writes, “..whatever we focus our hearts on first in the morning will shape our entire day.” Read the article at this link:

This article provides food for thought as we reflect over the summer. How do we start our days?

Please note the following upcoming dates:

• August 3-8 – Camp Evergreen. This local summer camp is affiliated with our Lower Pacific District, and provides an excellent summer camping experience for children and leadership training for youth. Camp Evergreen also provides an opportunity for partnership between your local church and a summer camping program. For info, please see this link.

• November 6,7 – A Workshop on Christian Sexuality. Hosted by Fort Langley EFC, this workshop, with Christopher Yuan will be both insightful and helpful in equipping people towards a biblical understanding of current issues and also towards more effectively ministering to our neighbours. Please watch for details in the weeks ahead.  

• March 4,5 – 2016 – LPD Conference on the theme Coaching and Mentoring.
